Our special medical team performed medical screening examinations among the inhabitants of the Roma community of Budovar in Székelyudvarhely (Odorheiu Secuiesc) from the 26th to the 28th of September 2008. On the first two days, we assessed the general health condition of nearly two hundred children and adults. By performing screenings ranging from locomotor and internal medical examinations, through blood sugar and blood pressure tests until tests related to the ocular surface status and fundoscopy, we have detected all life-threatening risk factors.

The results: over hundred hypertension patients, (out of whom thirty six with excessive blood pressure), and nearly sixty patients suffering from urinary tract infections - just a few data reflecting the neglected condition of ghetto inhabitants, while pointing at the shortcomings of the local basic health care and health insurance system.

With the collaboration of the Social Centre of Budovar, we have managed the patients filtered out to be admitted at the hospital of Székelyudvarhely for further medical treatments.

We spent the third day of our mission among the orphans raised in the homesteads in the surrounding of Ocland.

Our initiative and our performed work can be exemplary for all civilian organizations and social institutions, that fight for the survival of, as well as for the improvement of the living conditions of those living on the margins of society.
